Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Very good prime rib, thought the potato was small, salad was good, service was acceptable, atmosphere was great. Went around 530 pm with some friends and had great conversation time. Would highly recommend.

Really nice location and setting. The wine list is unimaginative and lacking. Definitely second or third tier wines. There were two of us, and both of our meals were very bland. My partner used to live in Great Falls and he always ordered the Cajun chicken Alfredo and he said it used to be really good and spiced up, but what he had last night was very bland. I had the chicken Quattro Fumagi and it was completely tasteless. Very disappointing. The shocker, though, was that they don't have any butter in the restaurant! We asked for butter for the bread, and the server brought margarine. He stated they did not have butter in their restaurant! Unbelievable

One of my favorite places for date night. Good upscale food and bar. Not sure what's up with all the negative reviews from CA, something fishy there.

Upon entering: The hostess definitely sees us, but disappears. The hostess working on the night we were in wasn't dressed as sharp as the servers, so I figured maybe she was going to fetch the actual host. You can see the server station, they can see you, but even when all six of them are standing there, they won't acknowledge you right away. We stood there for a good thirty seconds before a server turned around and greeted us. The server couldn't actually seat us though, she kinda stared at the seating waiting for the hostess to come back... This is really a minor complaint, it just makes for a real awkward first impression. Once seated, everything else went smoothly! I believe our server was named Jacob and he was plenty professional. The busser was attentive as well. I haven't had balsamic and oil served with bread since I vacationed in Europe so it was kind of nice to see! The entrees were very good. I had a special- a seafood penne- large portion for the price. I loved the artichoke hearts in the dish, unexpected. Scallops were tender too. My husband had a steak- prime rib I believe- no complaints- it was plenty tender with good flavor. We also had their house tiramisu. Nice enough. There was a range of desserts to choose from. Though not particularly lacking, the bar selection didn't impress me. The standard cocktails were there, i remember only 3 scotches to choose from, and the Gewurztraminer I had was average. I think this would be a nice place to take your parents for a fancy dinner. Fancy but not pretentious.

I remember eating at Dante's over 6 years ago when traveling with my co-workers. Decided to try it again since I felt like Italian food. Pretty restaurant and decor, more of a fine dining feel. Food was decent with big portions. Best thing was their signature roasted garlic that they mix with olive oil and balsamic at the table by my server. It was delicious on the bread. I ordered the scallops au gratin. Made with linguine and baked with Parmesan on top. Very cheesy but bland. Restaurant wasn't full but my order took awhile. No one came by to tell me status of my meal. Thought maybe it took longer since they had to bake the dish to melt the cheese on top. I didn't get half finished. The best part of the meal was the roasted garlic and the salad, which has a Gorgonzola dressing.

Great food, great atmosphere! It makes you feel high class without making you uncomfortable. Probably the best place to eat in Great Falls. It doesn't seem like a kid friendly place, but they had no problem seating our kids and had good food for them as well.

We usually split a meal and did so here for a reasonable fee. We broke with our tradition, and ordered a steak. It was very tasty, served beautifully. Wonderful atmosphere. Had to request coffee a second time, but that was fine. Servers help one another with needs. Enjoyable meal.

This is literally the worst restaurant that I have ever had the misfortune of trying. While visiting the amazing state of MT; we decided to try a restaurant in town instead of eating at our lodge. We ignored the yelp reviews, thinking how bad could it be? From the service to the tacky early 90's decor, this place is awful. These can be overlooked, but it's the food that really shines as gross slop. We started with salads which were swimming in the worst dressing ever. We only had had two bites. Even my ice tea didn't taste right. Then the entrees came, yuck! Swimming in some sort of gelatinous oil and zero taste. I had a pasta and my companion had lemon chicken. After one inedible bite we decided to leave $60 and go get pizza. How this place stays in business, I don't know! Do yourself the favor and go to the pizza place by the river or just get fast food. McDonald's is far better!

How it's possible to have bad reviews of this place is beyond me. We came for a shopping weekend in Great Falls from Canada and our hotel recommended this place. The food was amazing, the service was prompt and very polite, and the prices where almost too low for what we where given. I left a $15 tip on a $40 meal as I felt I hadn't paid nearly enough for the food. The building itself is rich in history and our waiter was happy to tell us all about it. Well done Dantes, I'll definitely stop here again!

My first visit to Dante's was a nice experience. They have a kids menu and there were other families dining there as well. I had the Salmon and it was a very big portion. The pries are fair for the portion and atmosphere.

I should have believed the previous Yelp reviews declaring this place unappetizing. I really don't know how Dante's stays in business, from start to finish this place was horrible. The hostess ignored us while carrying on a personal conversation with a waiter (loud drama, continued for most of our meal). The service was pretty bad, although I believe the waiter was in fact trying his best, he really had no clue about how to properly care for guests. His service was awkward at best. The bruchetta appetizer had a lot going on, not a traditional bruchetta by any means, but edible. The Ceasar salad wasnt a Ceasar at all, but some sort of overly dressed, wilted lettuce on a plate drowning in thousand island dressing. Nothing like a plate of browning uncored lettuce. The main course was the biggest disappointment for both myself and my colleague: my steak was cold and too rare, the mashed potatoes were gummy, likely cooked earlier this week and reheated, and the asparagus was also obviously frozen, not fresh. My coworker's steak also came to the table more rare than what was ordered, and his orzo side dish was dry and flavorless. I only took a couple bites of my dinner, it really was that bad. The waiter did notice I was unhappy with my dish, so he did offer to replace it with something else, which was nice, but not necessary. I didnt ask him to. He wound up taking the meal off our tab as a courtesy. This is the only reason I give this place any stars at all. No plans to be back whatsoever. It's a gorgeous restaurant, but they really do the community a huge disservice serving food of such poor quality. Yikes.

Take it from an out-of-towner who knows good food: STAY AWAY from this place unless they completely change the menu, staff and decor. I ate here today after reading other reviews warning me to stay away, and now I wish I would have heeded the warnings. The food was terrible! It was the worst food I've ever eaten at any restaurant, and I've been to many. One of many complaints is that the chicken piccata was covered in a gelatinous substance and tasted heavily of bitter lemon powder while the chicken meat itself was quite bland. The salad dressing was not tasty at all and I certainly wish that I had asked for it on the side because the vegetables were literally swimming in it. Do yourself a favor and avoid at all costs. My girl and I actually went to another place to eat after spending $60 at Dante's.

Stopped in here for lunch while travelling through. Had a decent craft brew selection, I had the Pig's Ass Porter. Good stuff! For lunch I had the seafood manicotti. This dish was a little on the small side, but was more than ample for lunch. This place didn't knock my socks off, but overall it was good. The wait staff was also top notch.

A big disappointment for me was that they did not serve soup or veal, only beef, chicken, seafood and salad. Since I do not like seafood or chicken and only order beef at a steakhouse, this left me with literally one choice-linguine carbonara, which was very good. I was a bit taken aback that it included vegetables, but was surprised how good it tasted. My wife had chicken parmesan. She said the chicken was very good, but the marinara sauce was overcooked and over spiced with rosemary. Before you poo poo her opinion I must tell you she is Italian and has been cooking Italian food for at least 55 years, and is considered the best cook among our friends and relatives. Two last comments.One- I thought the restaurant was a bit pricey. I live in the San Francisco bay area where it is expensive to live and there are many Italian restaurants that are less expensive than Dante's. Two-the service was very good.

It was a Friday night double-date night in Great Falls Montana. We decided to try out Dante's; rumor says it's one of the nicest restaurants in town, albiet pricey. Now I never mind trading a couple of Ulysses S. Grants for a good meal, but unfortunately Dante's was not deserving. The only redeeming factor of the whole place is the wait staff. They were indeed very attentive and pleasant. Oh wait, there was one more redeeming factor, the Andes mints. Unless you're diabetic or allergic to it, or are deathly afraid of things wrapped up in green foil, Andes mints can almost make you forget how underwhelming a dinner was. So what about the food? The restaurant does offer bread for the table. The bread is nothing special (the word Wonderbread comes to mind) but I did enjoy the balsamic vinegar, oil, garlic concoction. For an appetizer we ordered the crab and artichoke dip. It was decent; I'm always a sucker for cheesiness. For the entrées, we ordered the Mahi-Mahi, the Halibut, the Crab and Shrimp Alfredo and the Filet Mignon. Between the four of us, none of us were satisfied with our meals. We tried to like it, we just couldn't lie to ourselves and our love for food. This is too bad since we were really looking forward to good food. Sorry Dante's, even more so, sorry taste buds, I didn't mean to put you through that!

Went during lunchtime with a group of guys from the shop. The homemade salsa and homemade chips where pretty good even though I didn't understand that portion of the appetizer since it seemed to be an upscale Italian restaurant. Food was pretty decent but pricey for the portion of the meal. Service was outstanding but then again went during lunch and population of the place was bare. I would probably go again during the evening to write another review and check more into the place.

Wonderful food, service and atmosphere. Also a wonderful sensitivity to gluten free clientele.

We were here for the Thursday lobster special for $22. Should have spent that $22 elsewhere. Lobster was over cooked to the point where you could not tell if you were chewing on lobster or just a ball of tasteless rubber. Service was EXTREMELY slow, took about two hours for dinner. Highlights: gorgonzola-ceasar salad dressing, balsamic/roasted garlic dip for the freshly baked bread. Would not come back!

More than anything, the service here was exceptional, even more so for Great Falls. I especially enjoyed how our waiter would always reply with "Certainly", "Absolutely", or "But of course" after we thanked him. I enjoyed the roasted garlic, vinegar, and olive oil dipping sauce for the bread. Most everything was pretty good here, but the prime rib definitely seemed to be the winner for the night. Definitely my pick for best meal in Great Falls.

Very nice place to eat. One of the best in great falls for atmosphere with your loved one. Some say it is pricey but not really that bad. Those people that think so should try out of town and they would realize that it is very reasonable. The food is exceptional and the service is a A plus.

This is probably one of two "somewhat classy" local places to eat in Great Falls. Unfortunately, it is a little overpriced. I have eaten here over 25 times and much prefer to pop in for lunch as opposed to dinner. The lunch menu is fairly diverse and less expensive than the dinner menu. Overall, the food is quite good. You just don't get much bang for your buck.
